MOBILITÉ FRANCOPHONE WORK PERMIT
Employers who recruit a foreign national whose habitual language of daily use is French and who will be working in a province outside of Quebec may be eligible for an exemption from the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). To obtain this exemption, the following criteria apply to the foreign national:
- has been recruited through a Francophone immigration promotional event coordinated between the federal government and Francophone minority communities;
- is qualified to work under an occupation categorized as NOC O, A or B (management, professional or technical)
- must be destined to work in a province or territory outside of Quebec;
The employer is required to submit an offer of employment before the work permit application is made. Initial work permit applications must be submitted online or via a visa application centre outside of Canada.
